To spread the message of Love, Kindness and Devotion, the divine has been taking birth in the human form in this world. The Avatars have all appeared in this world to bring Joy /Ananda and to alleviate the misery of the suffering mankind.
To serve the mankind and bring joy amongst the downtrodden, to spread the holy name of the divine mother, Avatar KalpaMahapurush Shri ShriSudin Kumar Mitra took birth in this world. Born in the year 1919 on 18th Feb in the small town of Giridhi. His Father Shri Chandrakanta Mitra and Mother SrimatiPromodini Mitra were deeply religious couple and were blessed with the divine birth of Shri ShriSudin Kumar as their 8th Child. His parents realized even when Shri ShriSudin kumar was an infant that he was born with divine endowments and powers, whatever he said would invariably happen.
He spread the message of love, kindness and service to the mankind, he embraced the idea of universal harmony by believing in the essential precepts of all religions. He firmly believed that “Essential message of all religions were Kindness, love and Forgiveness“. He spent his life preaching this message and practicing the same by serving the mankind. He not only looked at their Spiritual upliftment but focused on the basic necessities of life like healthcare, education and financial independence.
All Avatar like Saints go through the suffering themselves as if to appreciate and better understand and empathize with the suffering mankind. Similarly GurudevSudin Kumar had his share of struggle, early in his life as a child he lost his father. With the death of his father the family had to face severe financial struggle, and as a young kid Shri ShriSudin Kumar saw human struggle at close quarters. With his brilliance and concentrated efforts he excelled in academics, he graduated from Scottish Church College and completed his masters from Kolkata University and joined the Government service.
It is while Studying that he was drawn into Tantra Sadhana. He devoted himself to the Sadhana under the Tantra principles in his all consummate passion to commune with the divine mother. He worshiped the divine mother Kali in her form of Adhyashakti or Adhya-ma. His mentor for learning the essential nuances of the Tantra Sadhana was Nagan Thakur, (Nagendra NathChatterjee).
Although Nagan Thakur would mentor GurudevSudin Kumar in his Sadhana& Tantra practice but was not committing to give theDiksha or Spiritual Initiation.Gurudev would press him continuously to give him the Diksha. Finally one day Nagen Thakur agreed and asked Gurudev to come the next day morning. GurudevSudin Kumar was overjoyed and his excitement was immense……however in the early hours of the chosen day, GurudevSudin Kumar had his much awaited and coveted darshan of the divine mother. AdhyaMaa appeared in her divine glory and initiated Gurudev herself. Gurudev was under the divine spell, with the advent of the dawn he ran to meet Nagan Thakur, who was anyway waiting for Gurudev, upon his arrival Nagan Thakur, welcomed Gurudev and said, you are the chosen one by the divine mother, you have her divine grace…you have been initiated by the Mother herself.
Gurudev Shri ShriSudin Kumar was a great humanist, he exemplified the true spirit of Tantra in his belief and faith in all religions and acceptance of every Human being across caste creed and religion as the child of the divine mother. GurudevSudin Kumar was not only a Matrisadhak (worshipper of the divine mother) but in practice he worshipped the Mankind. He preached “serving the mankind was the primary class in one’s pursuit to commune with the divine mother… and 1st step towards Moksha or salvation.”
He stated that in order to get the grace of the Divine mother and her darshan(vision) one needs to love the mankind and one needs to get the love from the mankind. It is in this absorption of the divine love and commune lies our Moksha or Mukti/Salvation
Shri ShriSudin Kumar was prolific writer and author. He had written many books based on his personal experiences and in his pursuit to inspire the common man with Faith, & Bhakti in the divine. His short essays were particularly inspiring and revelation of the divine. He believed good literature was necessary to bring about qualitative change in the human mind, with that in mind he conceptualized the bimonthly magazine that would talk about the divine and the mankind. He named it Matribani(the message of the mother). This bi-monthlymagazine is regularly published by MatrisangaJankalyan Ashram in line with the spirit with which Gurudev had launched this publication and it already completed 39 years of its publication.
He was always concerned about the trials and dilemma of the human beings in their day to daylife. To guide them through the challenges of the daily life and lead them to a joyous life he wrote a book and he named it PatherSathi (friend of the road). This book gives an expression on his concerns for the modern world problems and his guidance on ways to overcome such issues and lead a life of harmony and joy.
He could inspire and mesmerize the audience for hours with his oratory. Many non-believers were converted to the path of belief and divine bhakti upon hearing his speeches …such was the power of his oratory that even small kids would seat at his feet hearing him completely spell bound. He always talked of the Divine Grace of the Holy mother, about the universal harmony of all religions and mostly about the need to serve the mankind and bring about qualitative upliftment of human life.
Gurudev Shri ShriSudin Kumar Mitra was endowed with divine powers, and he would use some of it in his tryst to bring happiness to the suffering. Many a wife or mother would seek his intercession and blessings for the well-being of their husbands or children He would intercede and invariably the problems would be solved, especially the sick and suffering was a great concern for him. He would pour his heart out in his prayers in order to bring about relief and well-being of the sick. But he also knew that the Prarabdha or Karma cannot be completely obliterated, and innumerable times he would take it upon himself and suffer for the sick in order get them relief and joy.
Gurudev Shri ShriSudin Kumar Mitra, was a Visionary & Perpetual Dreamer. He would conceive and think through as to how and what are the ways mankind can be served, how their troubles can be alleviated and what needs to be done to bring a little cheer to the suffering….his dream and vision has taken practical shape in the form of MatrisanghaJanakalyan Ashram and the activities of the ashram for serving the human life.
He preached the Sanatan (ancient) concept of Ananda, as the basis of human life and how we all have the inherent Ananda or joy as our intrinsic quality, but the tragedy of the human life is that we forget the same in the spell of the maya… as a Guru and great humainst his blessings flow endlessly to bring Joy and happiness in the lives of all.
This great Matrisadhak and humanist left his body to commune with the universal consciousness, and to be one with the divine mother on 2nd February 1984, when he was only about 64 years.
However his love and blessings and concern for all his disciples, followers and mankind in general, continues and this is best exemplified by the way MatrisanghaJanakalyan Ashram has flowered as the embodiment of his divine soul and through its services flows his divine grace.
